Interview with Nicholas Gagliarducci, conducted by local REALTOR® Keith Kurlander
I have been the curator at The Inn Gallery for almost three years and we are geared towards showcasing local artists of all mediums.
I am a long time patron of the adjacent Ye Rustic Inn and a few years ago myself and some of the employees and owners got together to fix up the place next door. We cleaned and painted the space and invited customers of the bar to submit their art. We always wanted a space to showcase local artists who wanted to be a part of the art community. I myself have painted for over thirty years and was in the right place at the right time when the opportunity came to put on the first event at the gallery which was on August 18 2013. It was a great success and I was asked to curate and continue to run the gallery.
Many of our artists who have showed at The Inn Gallery have expressed to me that they found it nearly impossible to get into a gallery to showcase their art because of their lack of past exposure and the brutal percentage most galleries take from artists. They loved how we were here for the main reason of giving unknown artists a venue and only taking a 25% commission to cover for the expenses of keeping up gallery.
Some of the famous patrons to our gallery include ; Laura Prepon, David Arquette, and the late great Director Michael Cimino ( The Deer Hunter). There's really too many to name and some want to remain incognito.
Ye Rustic Inn has been the real hero of the Inn Gallery. They have asked for nothing in return except that we continue to show art made by locals in the neighborhood and have fun at our shows. Here's the link to "Your Favorite Neighborhood Dive" http://yerusticinn.com/
