Interview with Liza Shtromberg, conducted by local REALTOR® Keith Kurlander
I am a jewelry designer and creator. All of the jewelry I sell is made by my company. I specialize in engagement and wedding rings for clients who are looking for non-commercial, unique, special engagement and wedding rings.
When I was sixteen years old, my family immigrated to Los Angeles from Israel and I started my business at that time as a crafter because my father was a stone carver and I was exposed to jewelry making at an early age and always enjoyed designing and crafting. Our financial situation was challenging as new immigrants. I started making and selling jewelry on the street of Melrose as a means of income. I really enjoyed creating jewelry and working with clients who liked my work.
Although my English was pretty good, it was a little intimidating to sell on the street of a new country. I quickly developed the skill set of selling directly to retail clients. I enjoyed creating the jewelry and continued developing my skills and talents. Creating a successful business gave me focus and helped to mitigate the pains of being a teenager plucked from her life and community.
The many challenges associated with managing things. So much of a business owner's time is spent managing a variety of things associated with logistics, it greatly reduces their time to be productive, which is the daily struggle of a small business owner.
My customer service is unprecedented. I treat all of my clients as honorable guests and precious beings. I love my clients and have a great dedication to their satisfaction. One of my clients said that her feeling of shopping with me was "like being in your sister's living room." My clients feel heard, honored and respected.
I've had so many memorable moments, working with clients over their engagement and wedding rings, it's very emotional and full of special stories. I've derived great joy from my connection to my clients.
I am about to launch a new collection that is my best work ever, the details are still undisclosed, it's launching in April 2016.
Making your own rules, not having to be a follower, creating your own reality.
Love your clients and be their advocates.
The people who choose to live in Los Feliz are out of the box, critical thinkers. Wherever I travel for exhibits and trunk shows, I never meet people that I like as much as the people I meet at my store in Los Feliz.
Chi Dynasty, Fancy Nails, The Alcove.
Dine and work and hike in Griffith Park.
It allows clients to have a very elevated, special and meaningful experience around being a client.
